Maya is a costume designer based in Cairo, with a fine arts degree from the American University in Cairo. She has worked in this field for 10 years  where her work ranged from designing and assisting in Egyptian Films and TV commercials as well as theatre.

She has recently completed her MA in Costume Design for performance in the U.K. at The London College of Fashion, where she focused her research on costume as a  storytelling medium . She is interested in exploring costume as a visual narrative and experimenting with costume and shadow play.  Historical and fantasy based genres are also a passion of hers  in costume design as they allow her to push the boundaries of her imagination and explore her passion for research.
